Carlton Forest heats up cold testing of tyre pyrolysis plant
Carlton Forest reports that it has begun a cold testing phase at what it refers to as “the UK’s first continuous pyrolysis plant” located at the company’s Worksop site. That announcement, which was published on 13 May 2022, will be followed by “full operation launch” later in May.
Commenting on the news Carton Forest representatives said: “As with any complex piece of technology and engineering, cold testing is an important part of the installation process as it nears completion and is designed to ensure the performance of all systems within the process.” Functional testing to determine the performance and capabilities of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems have already been successfully carried out.
Rory Hughes, technical director, Carlton Forest Renewables commented: “Our cold testing has been hugely successful and given us great confidence in the future performance of the plant.
“The next stage will be our hot testing, and this will give us even greater data about what we can expect from the plant when it is up and running and will ensure that all elements of the process function effectively.”
