6.5 million all-steel radials a year: Assessment for ZC Rubber’s proposed factory
An environmental impact assessment has commenced for the all-steel radial tyre plant that Zhongce Rubber Group (ZC Rubber) intends to build in Hangzhou, China. Subsidiary Hangzhou Zhongce Qiantang Industrial intends to set up the 6.5 million tyre a year greenfield facility in the Xiaoshan Linjiang High-tech Industrial Park; stakeholders now have an opportunity to comment on the project’s potential ramifications.
The Hangzhou Zhongce Qiantang Industrial plant will use 5G smart factory technology in accordance with the Chinese government’s Made in China 2025 strategic policy. ZC Rubber debuted 5G at its pilot ‘future factory’ plant in Hangzhou, a facility that reportedly can operate 15 per cent more efficiently than existing tyre factory models with a workforce 70 per cent smaller.
In a Chinese-language statement, ZC Rubber expresses confidence that its utilisation of cutting-edge production technology and equipment within the “world’s most advanced” digital tyre factory will enable it to surpass traditional dominant players in Europe, the USA and Japan and become the “global leader”.
