Bridgestone: No facilities or employees in Ukraine
As part of our ongoing coverage of the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war, Tyres & Accessories asked one of the world’s leading tyremakers, Bridgestone, a series of questions about its operations in Russia and the Ukraine.
Commenting on the situation, a Bridgestone statement said: “Bridgestone has no facilities or employees based in Ukraine. As part of our business contingency plans and to minimize the impact of the conflict on our operations, Bridgestone’s global and regional management are closely monitoring the situation and will flexibly adapt plans where needed.”
No further details of how the war, sanctions and public opinion affects Bridgestone’s Russian operation were answered. However, we do know that Bridgestone operates a tyre manufacturing plant in Ulyanovsk on the Volga, around 900 kilometres south-east of Moscow and will therefore be facing the same economic and logistic challenges as every other tyre maker there.
