Trelleborg introduces XP1000 material handling tyre
Trelleborg Wheel Systems says it is looking to “significantly improve material handling operations” with the launch of its latest tyre for maximum intensity applications, the XP1000. It adds that the tyre provides customers moving materials around ports, warehouses, and shop floors with optimum traction and minimal vibration. The claimed result is greater comfort, increased safety, lower fuel consumption and a longer tyre life for more cost effective and sustainable operations. The XP1000 is also available in a non-marking version.
“We have worked hard to make sure our tyres are ready for next generation material handling vehicles and the intense jobs they’re required to perform,” remarks Luca Sabelli, product manager material handling at Trelleborg Wheel Systems. “We want to give our customers a high-performance tyre promising greater durability, more stability and comfort, while reducing the environmental impact – even when handling heavy duty jobs. The XP1000 tyre does all that – and more.”
Sustainable success
According to Trelleborg, side-by-side performance comparison tests against competitors’ tyres show that the XP1000 lasts up to nine per cent longer with 21 per cent improved endurance and offers a reported increase in comfort of up to 13 per cent. The tyre maker adds that it also designed the XP1000’s three internal layers “for sustainable success” as these feature a fibre compound made using recycled materials. Trelleborg shares that this saves 866 tonnes per year on materials alone, while decreasing annual CO2 emissions by up to 110 tonnes.
The XP1000 includes Trelleborg’s Pit Stop Line technology which lets operators know the right time to replace their tyres so they can get the most out of them and reduce waste. The tyre also incorporates Trelleborg’s labelling system to help customers select the right tyre for their operations according to application specific requirements and intensity, improving overall performance.
“Starting with raw materials and long-lasting reliability of compounds, Trelleborg brings cutting edge technologies to its tyres, so machine operators can concentrate on what they do best,” concludes the tyre maker.
