Becker confirmed as TireHub CEO
The Board of Directors at TireHub, the USA-wide tyre distributor jointly founded by The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and Bridgestone Americas Inc., has named Ted Becker the company’s chief executive officer, effective immediately. This announcement confirms Becker in a role in which he has served in an interim capacity following the departure of Peter Gibbons from the company in October 2021.
“As we embarked on our search for the next TireHub CEO, we were continually reminded of Ted’s impressive achievements growing TireHub’s business the past few months. He exemplifies the leadership traits and demonstrates the executive management skills a CEO of a joint venture needs,” said Bridgestone and Goodyear representatives in a statement released on 18 February. “Today’s announcement reflects our commitment to accelerate TireHub’s success, and with Ted’s breadth of industry experience, we look forward to TireHub’s new and continued plans to help dealers and retailers grow their business.”
Prior to joining TireHub, Becker served as the president of Exide Technologies, Americas, responsible for its automotive and industrial business units. He previously worked for Michelin for 21 years, holding various sales and marketing positions in both the passenger and truck business units, including key roles of director of sales and vice president of marketing.
“I am honoured to lead TireHub and this exceptional team that is committed to supplying our customers with premium products and a differentiated level of service,” said Becker. “This is a time of dynamic growth for TireHub, and I am passionate about the opportunity to take our company and our customers’ business to the next level.”
Becker received both his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and his Master of Business Administration from Clemson University.
