Apollo Tyres signs Vredestein distribution deal with Sweden’s Amring
Swedish tyre wholesaler is now the exclusive distributor of the Vredestein range of car, light commercial and classic tyres in Sweden and Finland. Apollo Tyres will end direct sales to retailers of these Vredestein tyre categories as of 1 March 2022 and instead actively support Amring in further building the brand’s market share in these two markets. Apollo Tyres Nordic AB will continue selling Apollo TBR and OHT products directly in all Nordic markets.
“Vredestein is a trusted brand in Sweden and Finland, and we are proud to be entrusted to take the brand forward,” says Ulf Wahlström, chief executive officer of Amring. “We have highly sophisticated commercial and logistics structures, which will help to improve availability of Vredestein products across this important territory. Our latest investment into improved cross-dock solutions will ensure more efficient deliveries of the products.”
The arrangement enables Amring to expand its product offering, benefiting from Vredestein’s profile as a respected brand with over a century in the tyre industry. The brand is also becoming better known through its growing portfolio of OEM supply agreements across Europe.
“This new distribution deal with Amring is central to our strategy to strengthen our operational footprint across the Nordics,” comments Paul Eidhof, cluster director North-West Europe, Apollo Tyres. “Our Vredestein tyres have proved very popular in the two countries, in part due to performance characteristics that are so well suited to the climate and road conditions, and this new relationship with Amring will allow the brand to fulfil its true potential there.”
Founded in 1952 in Gothenburg, Amring is Sweden’s leading tyre wholesaler. Major European tyre distributor Van den Ban acquired the operation in 2018 together with tyre wholesaler Europadäck. Through this acquisition, Amring has become one of the leading tyre and wheel suppliers in the Nordics.
