An excellent all-rounder – Goodyear on ADAC tyre test win
Goodyear views the results of the latest ADAC summer tyre test as confirmation of its commitment to sustainability as well as its products’ readiness for the change to electric. The German motoring organisation and its European partners voted the Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 winner of their size 185/65 R15 comparative evaluation.
In the test report, ADAC recommended Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 for ‘frequent drivers’ as it scored the highest mileage of the 16 tested products. With strong results in all categories, Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 gained the best overall score, taking into account its results across all test criteria.
Goodyear states that mileage and longevity are key features of EfficientGrip Performance 2, a tyre that – according to internal testing as well as evaluations performed by independent third-party specialists – delivers mileage estimates to be 50 per cent higher mileage than its predecessor and 20 per cent percent higher than its closest tested competitor. The tyre thus achieved a ‘very good’ rating for longevity in the ADAC test, a result that also backs up testing performed by the motoring association last year in which it declared Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 2 the top performer for mileage in an intensive test after it exhibited a mileage result that was more than twice that of some rival brands.
Ready for the modern electrifying car parc
“The EfficientGrip Performance 2 line is designed to be an excellent all-rounder for drivers of a wide variety of cars who require excellent mileage and longevity alongside reliable dry and wet performance,” comments Laurent Colantonio, Goodyear’s regional technology director EMEA. “These characteristics demonstrate that this award-winning product line is ready for the modern electrifying car parc. They also prove Goodyear’s commitment to sustainability. We are pleased that they are clearly shown in the results of ADAC’s test, which measures a popular size for drivers of small cars and hatchbacks.”
The 185/65R15 size that featured in this 2022 ADAC test is a common fitment on many small cars, such as the Audi A1, Citroën C3, Fiat Panda, Renault Clio and Zoe, and Volkswagen Polo.
