Prinx Chengshan acknowledged for energy efficiency

When the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF) announced its list of most energy efficient companies within the petrochemical industry (for 2020) in October, it recognised tyre maker Prinx Chengshan as a leading ‘Energy Efficiency Benchmark Company’ for the sixth year in a row. Prinx Chengshan attributes these half-dozen consecutive accolades to its focus on sustainability in recent years, including energy and materials conservation as well as efforts to promote a circular economy.

In order to call itself a ‘Leading Energy Efficiency Benchmark Enterprise’, Prinx Chengshan has strictly adhered to the concept of sustainable development and over time built up and expanded an eco-friendly manufacturing system. Back in 2016, the company participated in the first series of projects with China’s Ministry of Industry & Information Technology (MIIT) to integrate green manufacturing. It was included in the first batch of Chinese green factories the following year, and in 2018 Prinx Chengshan developed evaluation standards for green design products. Last year, MIIT selected Prinx Chengshan as a company for exceptionally green supply chain management and as a demonstration company for the green design of industrial products.

Benchmarks for the industry

The CPCIF has awarded industry leaders for energy efficiency in 33 different areas for the past decade, thereby spotlighting these firms as benchmarks for the industry. Based upon evaluations by experts and the recommendation of technical committees, it awarded Prinx Chengshan (Shandong) Tire Co., Ltd. for efficient energy consumption during its production as well as the energy efficiency of the tyres it produces.
