Winning drift season end for GT Radial sponsored Boulbes
GT Radial sponsored racing partner, Benjamin Boulbes finished the shortened 2021 French Elite Drift FFSA Championship on a high, securing first place in the final race of the season.
In a schedule reduced to just six rounds and three circuits across three weekends, the teams met in Bordeaux where Boulbes finished top of the podium, and in 10th place overall.
This year marked a fresh challenge for the seven-time champion, with him taking the wheel of a new finely tuned BMW 1 Series e82 with a Sadev sequential gearbox and manageable engine Link which produces 1200 CV/BHP. The new car weights 250 kilogrammes. lighter than his previous BMW M3 E93M.
Boulbes continues to race on GT Radial Champiro SX2, which the manufacturer describes as “an extreme performance summer tyre developed for drivers who want higher levels of traction, lightning-fast steering response and confident driving control in dry and wet conditions.”
Short & challenging
Speaking at the end of the race, he said: “A big thank you to GT Radial for their trust and support this year in what has been an enjoyable but challenging, shortened French Championship.
“With the season taking place over just six weeks it did not allow us to carry out updates and development of this new car, nevertheless we are very satisfied to finish in tenth place when we see the number of participants performing at an exceptionally high level this season. Our greatest satisfaction is to have been able to measure the potential of our new car, but also and above all to have been able to identify the few points to be improved which will produce a formidable weapon next season.
“GT Radial tyres will continue to help me perform at a higher level and get the best from the car.”
