Sri Lanka acknowledges GRI for export contribution
Bestowed by the country’s President, the Presidential Export Award is considered Sri Lanka’s highest honour in recognition of outstanding contribution to the export sector and to the country’s economic development. The most recent awards ceremony took place on 26 November, and tyre maker GRI was named Best Exporter of Dry Rubber Products for the second consecutive year.
Sharing news of the award, GRI says its recognition as a Best Exporter in 2019/20 and again in 2020/21 is a “humbling moment” for its Sri Lankan and global teams. The company says this latest award will “further reinforce the commitment of GRI to be a global leader in the specialty tyre industry and strive towards greater heights.”
“The GRI team, well patronaged by its committed customers across the global markets have been able to generate unparalleled growth that has brought tangible results to Sri Lanka from many dimensions,” adds Dr Mahesha Ransoma, chief executive officer of GRI. “This includes earning valuable foreign exchange for Sri Lanka, harnessing the potential of human capital deployed in our manufacturing operations, and making Sri Lanka proud by creating a global brand of high-performance speciality off-road tyres made in Sri Lanka.”
