KamaTyresKZ secures funds for automated machinery
Work on Tatneft’s joint venture tyre factory in Saran, Kazakhstan began several months ago, and the project has now taken a further step forward with the signing of a financial lease agreement aiding the purchase of modern, automated tyre production equipment for the plant.
The agreement between KamaTyresKZ and the Republic of Kazakhstan’s Industrial Development Fund will enable the joint venture to acquire machinery from manufacturers such as Mesnac, Konstrukta, Vipo, Prozax, Comerio Ercole and Nakata Engineering. Deliveries of equipment to the construction site will begin in the first quarter of 2022.
“We are grateful to the senior management of the Industrial Development Fund of Kazakhstan for a constructive partnership approach to the process of preparing a leasing transaction. Implementation of the most complex and ambitious projects is possible in Kazakhstan thanks to such development institutions,” says Alexander Smyshlyaev, director of KamaTyresKZ.
On schedule for late 2022 start
The construction team has already laid foundations at the Saran site and is currently installing the reinforced concrete and metal structures of the main production building. Work is on schedule for the plant’s operational launch at the end of 2022. Tatneft says the project will create more than a thousand jobs and lead to a facility capable of producing 3 million car and light truck tyres a year as well as 500,000 truck tyres.
