Linglong achieves OE ‘breakthrough’ with Honda JV in China
Linglong Tire says the start of its original equipment tyre supply to the Honda Crider represents “another milestone breakthrough” for the company in the global OE tyre market. It shipped the first batch of tyres to Guangqi Honda in September 2021, almost three years after commencing development work on OE tyres for the Crider, an exclusive to China model that sits in the Honda range between the Civic and Accord.
Since launching the Crider project in December 2018, Linglong Tire has been “fully devoted” to the project. In collaboration with Guangqi Honda, Linglong has met the vehicle manufacturer’s strict production process control requirements and quality control standards prior to successfully passing Honda’s on-site review and production, technology and quality evaluations.
The result, reports Linglong Tire, is an OE tyre that offers low rolling resistance and noise, being perfectly adapted to the vehicle’s suspension. Guangqi Honda officially approved the tyre on 9 July 2021.
“Linglong’s success on becoming the OE fitment of Guangqi Honda’s Crider is another milestone breakthrough for Linglong Tire in its global OE market,” shares the tyre maker. “Linglong Tire always regards the OE business as one of the company’s core sectors. Through continuous R&D investment and quality improvement, it continues to meet customer demand for high-quality, high-performance, and environmental-friendly tyre products.”
