BKT-supported Tractor of the Year 2022 announces winners

Indian agricultural tyre specialist calls awards ‘a window onto the future of agricultural mechanization’

Agricultural tyre specialist BKT has supported the 2021 edition of the Tractor of the Year Awards, presented at the EIMA trade fair in Bologna. It is the second time the manufacturer has sponsored the awards, which recognise the most innovative and cutting-edge tractors on the market.

The winners in the competitions four categories are:

• Tractor of the Year 2022: John Deere with the 7R 350 AutoPowr model
• Best Utility 2022: John Deere with the 6120M AutoPowr model
• Best of Specialized 2022: Reform with the Metrac H75 pro model
• Sustainable TOTY 2022: New Holland with the T6.180 Methane Power model

26 judges formed the jury for the Tractor of the Year awards. These experts, who represent trade magazines from all over Europe, selected the finalists after studying, observing and testing the most innovative and high-performance tractors and machines on the market. BKT calls the awards ‘a window onto the future of agricultural mechanization’; the tractor and its equipment are at the centre of Agriculture 4.0 as a fundamental means to streamline and optimise work in the field. That is why, starting last year, BKT decided to embrace the mission of Tractor of the Year by sponsoring the award until 2024.

“We are really proud to be able to support this prestigious award for the second year,” explained Lucia Salmaso, CEO of BKT Europe, during the awards ceremony. “We are convinced that the Tractor of the Year is a splendid showcase to enhance and emphasize innovation in agricultural mechanization and therefore in agriculture itself. The jury this year, once again, did an extraordinary job in evaluating all the tractors competing for the 4 TotY awards. After the last digital edition broadcast exclusively on the totydigital.com platform, the 2022 edition of TotY returns to be celebrated in presence at a key trade fair event for the agricultural industry, EIMA.

The organisation hopes to maintain this hybrid approach for the 2023 edition.
