Insa Turbo to become Kraiburg-approved Recom retread manufacturer by 2022
Leading Spanish retreader Insa Turbo, which is part of the Soledad Group, has signed a collaboration agreement with Kraiburg Austria that leads to the use of Kraiburg retreading materials at the retreader’s Aspe (Alicante) factory. According to an Insa Turbo statement, the alliance includes a roadmap which “defines the gradual implementation of Austrian technology in the process of hot retreading and pre-curing of truck tyres.”
These new product lines will coexist with the existing lines of Industrias del Pneumático in a bid to “enrich” the portfolio of the Alicante plant. As a result of the agreement with Kraiburg, tyres retreaded with Kraiburg materials will be available for sale at the extensive network of Grupo Soledad tyre centers and workshops.
Kraiburg technicians report that they are working on optimizing the plant’s production processes, with a view to 2022, when Insa Turbo is expected to become a plant approved by Kraiburg for the manufacture of its Recom retreaded for the Spanish market.
Joaquín Pérez, director of Grupo Soledad’s industrial division, explained: “the Spanish market will be able to enjoy the entire range of Kraiburg products throughout the country, and our centres will have a wider range of high quality products to offer our customers greater benefits”.
Stefan Mayrhofer, CEO of Kraiburg Austria stressed that “the new cooperation is of great importance as it allows both companies to work on joint strategies for the development and distribution of our products and services. For us it opens a wide access to the Spanish market that only a strong partner can provide”.
Insa Turbo reports that it produces more than 50,000 retreaded tyres per year. These tires are distributed through the Grupo Soledad network of around 1,000 partially owned and franchised points of sale in Spain and Portugal.
