DuPont Mobility & Materials increasing prices from 1 October 2021
Chemical and material manufacturer DuPont Mobility & Materials, which supplies tyremakers around the world, has announced sweeping prices increases globally. The price increases take effect from 1 October 2021 “or as soon as contracts allow”.
The price hikes relate to a range of the DuPont Mobility & Materials offering including four within the Zytel range of polyamides products.
The increases are set to up input costs for those purchasing such product by between 200 and 800 euros per metric tonne in the Europe Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region. Similar increases have been set for the Americas and Asia Pacific regions, differing only due to exchange rate variances.
However, that might not be the end of it. DuPont’s announcement concludes with the warning that “in certain cases higher increases may be required.”
It is not clear if Kevlar, arguably DuPont’s most famous tyre-related product, is included in the present round of price increases.
