Yokohama Rubber donates to flood-affected football club

Yokohama Europe GmbH, the Yokohama Rubber Group’s European regional headquarters, has donated €10,000 to the youth division of the Ahrweiler BC Football Club in Ahrweiler, Rhineland-Palatinate, the German state that suffered extensive flood damage last month.

The 1920-founded club has operated numerous youth programmes over the years. However, the recent floods severely damaged its youth facilities. Yokohama Europe decided to make this donation so that Ahrweiler BC can restore its youth facilities and continue its deeply rooted support for local youngsters.

“The Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd., would like to express the company’s deepest sympathies to the families and friends of people who lost their lives during the heavy rains and floods that occurred in western Germany on July 14, as well as to everyone affected by this disaster,” states the company. “All of us at Yokohama Rubber Group pray that the people in the affected areas will be able to return to their normal lives as soon as possible.”
