RH Claydon starts work on Carlisle depot

Wholesaler RH Claydon Ltd. began construction work on its new depot in Carlisle this week. The facility is located within the Kingmoor Park Enterprise Zone and includes a 30,000 square foot warehouse as well as purpose-built office space.

Kingmoor Park reports that RH Claydon will initially hire five full-time employees at the Carlisle site, including an apprentice, but intends to increase its staff headcount as the office there grows. It adds that transport links were key to the tyre wholesaler’s selection of the site. The Carlisle facility, which will service a growing client base in the North, is RH Claydon’s seventh – the company currently operates from depots in Swindon, Falkirk, Scunthorpe, Handforth, Launceston and its head office site in Bury St Edmunds.

“We are delighted to be commencing work on our new depot in Carlisle on Kingmoor Park and look forward to providing employment in the Carlisle,” says Clive Maskell, finance director at RH Claydon. “The site was strategically chosen to enable us to improve on our service to our existing customers and to furthermore increase our customer base. Kingmoor Park has excellent transport links and will quickly become a valuable addition to our list of sites.”
