Former F1 driver Karthikeyan JK Tyre’s new brand ambassador
Narain Karthikeyan, who in 2005 became India’s first-ever Formula 1 driver, has signed on as a JK Tyre brand ambassador. Commenting on the arrangement, Raghupati Singhania said the tyre maker was “delighted” to have Karthikeyan represent the JK Tyre brand in India.
“Narain is committed to a large community of motorsports in India and his excellence aligns perfectly with the vision of JK Tyre,” added the chairman and managing director. “With his enigmatic persona, we hope to further enhance and strengthen the brand while building greater visibility.”
Karthikeyan’s relationship with the tyre maker dates back to 1997, and JK Tyre Motorsport considers the racer a “JK prodigy”. He switched allegiances in 2010, joining MRF Tyres as racing brand ambassador. Returning after more than a decade, Karthikeyan said, “I am proud to be associated with one of the most respected and pioneer brands. JK Tyre has achieved great milestones in the past with its unwavering commitment towards delivering best in class products and services and I’m eagerly looking forward to embarking on this exciting journey together with JK Tyre brand.”
