TankSafe devices are designed to prevent diesel spills from HGVs
Diesel spills from HGVs are listed as a major cause of death and serious injury on the UK’s roads. In addition, they represent both an obvious environmental contamination issue and unnecessary wastage of a fleet’s most costly commodity. A company based in the UK, with offices on four continents, TISS has innovated a range of award-winning fuel security products to tackle this issue, called TankSafe. Approved by leading truck original equipment manufacturers, the product can be fitted on new-build trucks or purchased for fitment retrospectively from distributors in 60 countries. In recognition of the brand’s global reputation, TISS has opted to rebrand the company TankSafe. TISS CEO, Ryan Wholey, explained that the “global transport industry trusts and respects the TankSafe brand, so it makes sense to fully align our identity with that.” He added that the flagship TankSafe Optimum “is far more than an anti-siphon. It certainly stops all fuel theft but, crucially, makes roads safer and protects the environment due to its unique capability to prevent overfilling of fuel tanks and diesel spills.”

The next generation of TankSafe products
Diesel spills can be caused by drivers overfilling, faulty or poorly fitting fuel caps, or ineffective anti-siphons, and can have dire consequences. Road traffic accidents, lawsuits, and environmental fines are common outcomes. In 2017, Highways England report that 353 people were killed or seriously injured in one year due to diesel spills from HGVs. Fines issued by the Environment Agency are unlimited if a company or person is convicted of causing the spill, as stated in the Environment Damage Prevention & Remediation Act.
“Diesel spills and leaks continually put fleets and the public at risk,” said Matthew Rose, director of TankSafe. “They are also extremely damaging to the environment. By fitting TankSafe Optimum in fuel tanks, this is all prevented. For a fraction of the cost of a tank of diesel, fleets and OEMs can protect the public and meet their environmental and health and safety obligations for the lifetime of each of their trucks.”

The company says that TankSafe is the world’s only device able to completely stop any siphoning, skimming and diesel spills, due to unique and patented technology.
TankSafe Optimum can be purchased direct from TankSafe or specified for fitment to fleets’ new-build Trucks via their local truck dealership. This is due to TankSafe being an approved supplier to the leading Truck OEMs.

Rebrand aligns company with award-winning product range
To assist with its rebrand, the company appointed an award-winning, national agency. The rebrand includes a new logo design that incorporates TankSafe’s three pillar values – “Safety, Protection, Prevention”, a new website (tanksafe.uk) and a video that highlights the dangers diesel spills present to the public and the environment.
