Kwik Fit seeking town properties as part of expansion plan
Kwik Fit has commissioned property consultancy Rapleys to find “new centres across the country”, in a move that reveals the market-leading fast-fit’s expansion plans.
Rapleys reports that “Kwik Fit are continuing to expand and require new centres” between 3,000 and 10,000 square feet and with an optimum of 5,000 square feet.” The team are considering both leaseholds and freeholds with “proximity to supermarkets and leisure facilities” in “all towns over 20,000 population”.
However, the following 24 locations are singled out.
- Scotland:
Livingston, Musselburgh, Peterhead. - Wales and Midlands:
Aberystwyth, Buxton, Cambridge, Newmarket, Shrewsbury, Uttoxeter, West Bridgeford. - Northern England:
Formby/Crosby, Lytham St Annes, Selby, Wetherby. - Southern England:
Abingdon, Acton, Broadstairs, Guildford, Haywards Heath, Hertford, Leatherhead, Oxford/Cowley, Sutton, Swindon.
Tyres & Accessories has contacted Kwik Fit’s parent company ETEL for comment. No details of how many branches Kwik-Fit is seeking to acquire have been released.
The expansion plans follow the news that ETEL sold 26 Kwik Fit freeholds in the first half of 2020.
