General Tire Altimax One S available now in 15-20” sizes
General Tire’s Altimax One S is the heritage-rich Continental group brand’s successor to the Altimax Sport, offering reliable dry performance, increased wet grip, and higher mileage due to its silica enriched rubber compound. The tyre is available in the UK from exclusive distributor Micheldever Tyre Services in a broad range of 15 to 20” sizes, approved for speeds of up to 186 mph.
General says the Altimax One S embodies its strapline, “Anywhere is Possible”, offering motorists a tyre “drivers can rely on for all the adventures in everyday life.”
The Altimax One S features a four-groove tread pattern, designed to fit higher performance sizes to ensure improved water dispersal at higher speeds, further supporting drivers with confidence in every curve. The tyre features the robust characteristics and high grip that General Tire is renowned for. Rigid shoulder blocks and a continuous rib structure in the centre offer precise handling and outstanding braking on dry roads, thanks to the connected shoulder blocks and reinforced stiffness.
The Altimax One S, like the Altimax One, features General Tire’s Visual Alignment Indicator (VAI) and Replacement Tire Monitor (RTM) technology. The VAI allows the vehicle owner to check for wheel misalignment more easily, reducing the risk of premature tyre wear. These indicators can be found on the shoulders of the tyre and are identifiable by short sipes spelling out VAI. If one shoulder wears the sipes out before the other shoulder during the first 600 miles, then this could indicate possible issues with the vehicles alignment.
The RTM indicates when the tyre is reaching its minimum tread depth. This can be found in the centre of the tyre and appears as the inscription ‘Replacement Tyre Monitor’, as the tread wears away ‘Replace Tyre’ will appear.
