Davanti introduces new UHP flagship with Protoura Sport

Davanti Tyres launched its new flagship tyre, the ultra-high performance Protoura Sport, in early 2021. The brand says the development of the premium pattern complements its existing DX640 UHP product, giving drivers more choice within the range. “With Protoura Sport we have taken the latest in tyre engineering innovation and created a new benchmark in our UHP offering,” said Davanti’s development director, Gary Cross.

“This has been designed and tested to complement the performance characteristics of the most powerful, finely-tuned road cars.

“Davanti’s European Development Centre at IDIADA and our partners at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão have been engaged to explore new limits of driving, handling and braking performance and to refine the feeling of connection between the driver, the vehicle and the road.

“It has also been subjected to independent mileage testing by Dekra to ensure that this is a performance tyre which will last.”

DX640 remains in range

With 126 sizes, Davanti continues to develop its original DX640 UHP tyre range. “The DX640 remains an important part of the Davanti family,” said Cross. “It is a tyre with a different performance profile.

“Protoura Sport has been engineered for highly tuned sports cars or supercars with a focus on high-speed performance and enhancing driver feedback. The DX640 couples proven high-speed track pedigree with comfort.

“Drivers have very different preferences. For some, performance is everything. They want the sharp braking and handling characteristics. Others are looking for a tyre that offers a comfortable ride but is sharp and responsive whenever called upon.
