TRA supports West Mercia Police tyre-tagging scheme

The Tyre Recovery Association (TRA) is supporting a West Mercia Police anti tyre fly-tipping initiative. The campaign, which involves retailers and others handling waste tyres, offers special marker pens to identify the origin of tyre. TRA-branded handouts and posters promoting the campaign will also be available.

“Fly-tipping is a serious problem right across our country” said Peter Taylor OBE, TRA
secretary general, adding: “Through our Responsible Recycler Scheme, we have done much to marginalise bad practises in our sector but there remain those who still choose to flout the law and ignore their legal duty of care. We applaud this initiative from West Mercia Police and hope other police forces may follow, we wish it every success”.
