Nationwide Fleet Services wins Tower Hamlets fleet servicing business
Nationwide Fleet Services (NFS) was awarded the tyre servicing contract for Tower Hamlets Borough Council in March 2021. According to a Freedom of Information request answered in 2019, the Tower Hamlets Council fleet consist of 192 vehicles and – as you might expect – is mainly made up of transit-sized vans and minibuses.
Tower Hamlets wasn’t NFS’s first London borough fleet win. Speaking to Tyres & Accessories, Ricky Mitchell, NFS’s national sales manager UK and Eire, confirmed that the company services at least one more: “We are pleased to work with both the London borough of Hackney Council and London borough of Tower Hamlets Council for their tyre needs, offering a bespoke service to support their requirements.”
However, the two London council fleets are by no means the largest that NFS works with. In addition to the Hackney and Tower Hamlets fleets, NFS is the contracted tyre breakdown provider for Royal Mail, in a role that sees it “covering the whole of the UK”. Indeed, according to Fleet News, Royal Mail is the largest fleet in the UK, with some 47,000 cars, vans and trucks to its name.
In light of the company’s business servicing fleets including those run by councils, it is no surprise learn that NFS is “working to provide school minibus safety inspections – nationwide”. Since all school minibuses must have 10 weekly safety inspection, NFS is offering to provide this service to help them comply and stay safe.
The addition of this complements the extension of mobile vehicle servicing and repairs to NFS’s core offer – something that is designed to help customers “reduce fleet vehicle and driver downtime”.
Nationwide Fleet Services (NFS) is a privately owned business, offering 24/7 vehicle support service nationally, operating with a managed network of 1,200 independent service providers.
