Marangoni Retreading Systems raising prices in June
Marangoni is raising prices for retreading materials in all global markets. It reports that as of 1 June, sales prices for the tyre retreading rubber materials offered by its Retreading Systems division will increase by 0.20 euros to 0.30 euros per kilogramme, depending on the product.
According to Marangoni, the price adjustment is a necessary response to the “sharp rises in prices and shipping costs of raw materials.” It points out that the spot market cost of synthetic rubber has almost doubled in less than one year. Supply chain bottlenecks due to shipping container shortages also have “drastic impacts on availability and price,” leading to soaring transport costs on Asia-EU shipping routes. Natural rubber, in particular, is feeling the squeeze with shipping costs increasing by 300 or 400 per cent.
“Marangoni is continually committed to reducing the impact of these growing costs. However, we are forced with this second price adjustment to shift another part of these additional costs to our products’ price,” declared Matthias Leppert, Marangoni Group’s chief operating officer and managing director of Marangoni Retreading Systems Deutschland.
