DENSO invites technicians to join the League of True Mechanics
DENSO Aftermarket, the aftermarket division of original equipment (OE) component manufacturer DENSO, originally developed its e-Learning programme in response to the reduction in face-to-face training, due to the coronavirus lockdown restrictions, and such has been its success that not only has the number of courses grown, but it has paved the way for a European competition – the ‘League of True Mechanics’ or LOTM.
“Helping technicians increase their knowledge and abilities is an important priority for us,” said DENSO Europe, Pan European Strategic Marketing Manager, Fatiha Laauich, “so, being able to give them access training that has been approved by such a distinguished organisation as the IMI, gives them even greater assurance in the quality of the content.
“As an OE manufacturer with technical partnerships with vehicle manufacturers globally, the range and depth of expertise within the DENSO organisation means that we have the opportunity to provide technicians with the great content that they clearly want and which will help them to improve their skills in the process.
“Although many will recognise DENSO for its pioneering spark and glow plug developments, as well as for diesel systems and solutions, all of which have featured in the e-Learning programme, wiper blades and additional air conditioning and diesel modules are highly relevant subjects to bring into the syllabus.
“Designed to help technicians to better understand and resolve problems, as well as improve their technical knowledge concerning DENSO products, the e-Learning platform is highly accessible and being a web-based programme, they are able to study whenever they have some free time, as the system usefully ‘remembers’ which page they are at and re-opens the course where they finished last time, meaning they are always up-to-date.
“Just as DENSO pushes the boundaries in the development of its products and systems, the DENSO Aftermarket team is always trying to bring something new, which is why we introduced the LOTM competition last year, with the eventual winners being rewarded with some great prizes.
“Those registered for LOTM earn DENSO ‘coins’ as they complete their training and have the opportunity to be among the leading European technicians and this year each of the final top 10 will win one of a selection of fabulous goodies, with a set of BOSE wireless headphones, a Team Toyota Gazoo Racing jacket and team gilet the ultimate prizes for the top three respectively. So, we encourage those yet to do so, to get on board and both expand their knowledge and improve their skills, as well as potentially win some great kit!”
