BKT: People & business safe in India
Off-highway tyre specialist BKT reassures its partners and customers that, despite the worrying news from India of late, it has worked hard to protect both its workforce and production. In response to the messages of concern the BKT team in India have received from around the world, the tyre maker expresses thankfulness that so many people have been in contact and are worrying about people’s health and safety: “BKT wants to reassure all of them that, fortunately, BKT teams in India and around the world, are safe and giving their best to keep the business at the normal levels.”
BKT says it “recognised immediately the fundamental necessity” to protect its staff members and has reacted promptly to introduce safety measurements to avoid the spreading of coronavirus in its production plants. It adds that this “timely intervention” has enabled BKT’s five production plants in India to run “smoothly” at an average capacity of 95 per cent since April 2020, after pausing production of just one month in order to create a task force and implement all the necessary protection measures.
The tyre maker stresses that all customer requests have been fulfilled according to schedule. “It is not a secret that the market is impacted by raw material availability and transport difficulties now and everybody is in the same situation, but BKT has been and is working hard to supply all the products requested with punctuality.”
In closing, the company states: “Nothing comes before people. Not even business, but both of them are safe and sound at BKT.”
