Hankook an official partner to Devon & Cornwall truck shows
Hankook Tyre UK is an official partner to two significant trucking events this year, the Devon Truck Show and Cornwall Truck Gathering. The tyre maker considers the shows, which focus on commercial transport solutions, an excellent opportunity to exhibit products from its truck tyre portfolio and to liaise with new and existing fleet operatives and owners.
At each event, Hankook will exhibit some of its most popular truck tyres. These will include the SmartFlex AH31 (steer) and SmartFlex DH31 (drive), all season tyres designed to provide high mileage and excellent handling performance on variable road conditions. There will also be two tyres from Hankook’s retread ‘Alphatread’ range, the R-DH05 for drive, and R-TH22 for trailer.
Alongside the truck tyres, Hankook will showcase its newest all-season van tyre, the Vantra ST AS 2. To further support the shows’ chosen charities, namely Devon Children’s Hospice and Devon and Cornwall Air Ambulance, Hankook is running a competition for a visitor to win a set of tyres for their car.
As well as main event sponsor, Hankook shall be category sponsor of ‘Best in Show Truck’ and ‘Best in Show Light Commercial’. Open to any drivers showcasing their vehicle at the events, these awards recognise those owners and operatives who go above and beyond to meet road and industry standards, including vehicle and tire maintenance and safety.
“After many years of attending the show myself, it was a pleasure when Hankook were approached to be main event sponsor,” comments Shane Kallaway, Hankook Tyre UK sales manager for the South West. “Not only is it a great opportunity for Hankook to showcase our commercial tire portfolio to drivers and fleet owners, the shows both support local charities in Devon and Cornwall, which Hankook are proud to be a part of.”
Mike Quarterly, organiser of both events, adds: “We cannot thank Hankook Tyre UK enough for their support of the Devon Truck Show and Cornwall Truck Gathering. Both shows are held to raise funds for local children’s charities, and without such sponsorships we would not be able to raise as much money for these local causes. There is something for everyone at the events from the commercial vehicles to trade stands, stock car racing and live music.”
The Devon Truck Show will take place on 26-27 June at Smeatharpe Stadium, and the Cornwall Truck Gathering, will take place on 10-11 July at the Royal Cornwall Showground.
