BKT’s Denis Piccolo heading ETRTO agri sub-committee
The ETRTO (European Tyre and Rim Technical Organisation) has appointed Denis Piccolo chairman of its agriculture sub-committee. In this role the product manager for off-highway tyre specialist BKT is tasked with consolidating the ETRTO’s position and official feedback on requests regarding agricultural tyres. He is also responsible for the data published in the Technical Manual (Standard Manual) and in Engineering Design Information, which contain ETRTO’s official indications for the agricultural sector.
The ETRTO is an organisation made up of manufacturers of tyres, rims and valves for vehicles of all kinds. It aims to harmonise tyre sizes and dimensions, thus avoiding any ambiguity. The organisation has the key role of establishing common technical sizes, load and pressure characteristics, and a single set of operational guidelines to help end users choose the right product for their needs.
Denis Piccolo has long represented BKT at the ETRTO and the tyre maker views his appointment as recognition of his “constant commitment” to areas related to the development of agricultural tyres and their corresponding regulation and safety. “I am proud of being appointed,” states Piccolo. “I will fulfil my duty with utmost commitment.”
BKT also considers Piccolo’s appointment confirmation of its “increasing weight” on markets around the world, especially in Europe. “This is a prestigious recognition which rewards the efforts of the Indian off-highway tyre manufacturing group in terms of quality, innovation, providing concrete responses to customer needs and focusing on their requirements.”
