69 years & counting – Avon Tyres renews Castle Combe sponsorship
Following the extension of an agreement that stretches back seven decades, Avon Tyres has announced that it will continue as official sponsor of the Castle Combe Circuit through 2021.
Castle Combe Circuit, which is located just 12 miles north of the Avon Tyres headquarters in Melksham, Wiltshire, has carried Avon branding since 1952. Signage was first applied to the Avon Tyres footbridge, which crosses the pit lane entry, followed by a second bridge between Quarry and the Esses, renowned to be two of the UK’s most challenging circuit corners. Today, an array of Avon advertising boards, banners and flags can be seen around the 1.85-mile circuit.
Avon also provides practical assistance to the venue; many of its support and response vehicles, as well as the single-seater and saloon cars used by the racing school, are equipped with products from Avon’s UHP car tyre and motorsport ranges.
Moving forward, as restrictions relating to the COVID-19 pandemic are relaxed, Avon intends to play a key role in events staged by the Castle Combe Circuit, in a similar vein to its Aston Martin-themed display at the 2019 Autumn Classic.
One of the longest motorsport sponsorships ever
“We are very proud of our long-standing association with the Castle Combe Circuit. Extending the arrangement through 2021 was a natural step and we look forward to our brand featuring prominently, on and off the track, when events at this fantastic circuit resume in earnest,” comments Cecilia Razeto, head of marketing & communication at Avon Tyres.
Tom Davis, sales and marketing director at Castle Combe Circuit, adds, “It’s absolutely fantastic that we are once again welcoming Avon Tyres as our main circuit sponsor for the 69th year. We are really excited about working together closer than ever as we look forward to celebrating possibly one of the longest motorsport sponsorships in history next year.”
