Pirelli announces US tyre price increases

Pirelli Tire North America (PTNA) has announced car and light truck tyre price increases in the United States. The price increases, which range up to 7 per cent, are set to take effect as of 15 April 2021.

According to PTNA, the increases are due to “the higher price of raw materials and changing market conditions”. Pirelli’s North American announcement follows a range of global and European price increase announcements across all tyre segments. As well as the raw material costs and “changing market conditions” Pirelli notes in its statement, the global pandemic and shipping costs are also affecting tyre customers worldwide. In Europe – and especially in the UK – Brexit fallout is also affecting tyre prices.
