Kumho launches all-season van/LCV tyre range

Kumho has a new tyre for the European van and light commercial vehicle segment. Introducing the Kumho PorTran 4S CX11, the tyre maker says its newcomer combines the strengths of the Solus 4S HA32 all-season passenger car pattern and its existing winter specification van tyre, the Winter PorTran CW11. The result, says Kumho, is a tyre that “ensures safe, secure driving and excellent braking performance throughout the year.

The tyre maker says the CX11 keeps fuel consumption in check with its new compounds – Kumho boldly refers to these as “cutting-edge” – as well as a tread design that optimises the tyre’s contact pressure with the road. It also developed the tread for maximum traction on snowy roads, a capability recognised by the CX11 possessing European 3PMSF ‘snowflake’ certification. Kumho adds that the tyre’s versatility is further emphasised by the presence of its own all-season icon on the sidewall.

The PorTran 4S CX11 range will initially include 15 sizes for 15- to 17-inch rim diameters and will offer fitments to the most popular vans and LCVs operating on Europe’s roads, including the Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, Fiat Ducato, Renault Kangoo and Volkswagen Transporter. Kumho will bring the tyre to market from the second half of this year, and its arrival will complete Kumho’s portfolio of all season-tyres that now encompasses passenger cars, SUVs, vans, LCVs, trucks and buses.
