Bickers launches Click & Collect website
Motorcycle and specialist tyre distributor Bickers will launch a new Click & Collect website on 10 March. The company said it has developed the site to help its motorcycle tyre customers gain online sales. It will promote Click & Collect to consumers as a way to drive footfall to dealers’ shops. Bickers wants to develop its Click & Collect Partner network with the new site too. It says the new site will help participating partners to increase profits, promote growth opportunities, to network and upsell additional items. Backing its new site, Bickers adds that Office for National Statistics data shows retail online purchases have increased by 42 per cent in 2020 over 2019. This big jump is an effect of national and regional lockdowns to combat the pandemic, but also follows the long-term retail trend towards online purchases.
The Bickers Click & Collect platform will help dealers to capitalise on the ongoing shift in consumer buying trends in their area without the need to invest in an e-commerce website and the subsequent marketing and maintenance costs associated, the company says.
In May 2020, 32.8 per cent of all retail purchases were made online. Compared to 18.8 per cent in May 2019, online purchasing has increased in popularity by 42 per cent in one year. “To help our dealers retain sales despite this new buying trend, we are launching a Click & Collect website which supports our partner network,” Bickers states.
The website opens up the full Bickers stock profile to consumers. Website visitors can buy motorcycle parts and accessories for collection from their local Bickers Partner. Bickers will send the order to the Partner prior to the consumer’s collection date and will credit the dealer the profit from the order. The company says that this will help to support the dealer’s related business too; online purchasers can rely on local Partners’ product support. Bickers says that it wants the sales channel to bring the consumer into the store where the dealer may choose to offer other services they provide and give sound advice.
Dealers featured on the website will be Click & Collect Partners. The Click & Collect Partnership is available to all UK dealers, and Bickers is currently taking Partner applications via its website.
