Nexen ‘streamlining’ European sales operations
Nexen Tire Europe is rationalising its approach to sales and marketing, and has thus announced changes affecting its operations in Austria and Sweden. The tyre maker will transfer responsibility for both markets’ sales organisations to its European headquarters in Kelkheim, Germany by the end of Q1 2021.
The company has not renewed its cooperation agreement with Vienna-based marketing firm Reifenflüsterer e.U. As a result, Nexen’s German sales organisation will handle customer support in Austria from 28 February. “We would like to thank Christian Jelinek for his many years of commitment to building up and marketing the Nexen Tire brand in the Austrian market,” said Nexen Tire Europe in a statement.
The tyre maker’s branch in Stockholm will shut its doors for the final time on 31 March. Upon its closure, the Nexen Tire Europe s.r.o. Sweden sales organisation will also be transferred to Germany.
“This decision was made in order to streamline the European sales organisation and to centralise marketing activities as well as product development,” explains John Bosco Kim, president of Nexen Tire Europe. “We assure our customers that, from April, we will continue to support the well-known service quality from our location in Kelkheim in the best possible way.”
