Versalis names Alfani CEO
Adriano Alfani is the new chief executive officer of chemical company Versalis, effective 1 January 2021. He succeeds Daniele Ferrari, who left the Eni-owned firm at the end of 2020.
Alfani brings 20 years of experience in the international chemical industry to his new position, and has held several international roles at senior global business director and senior global strategy director levels. He commenced his career at Versalis last December after working at Dow since 2001, where he adopted a business model based on innovation, circular economy and sustainability principles.
Versalis notes that Daniele Ferrari has contributed to improving the company’s results and setting the transition path towards an increasingly sustainable and circular chemicals business, in line with Eni’s strategy, transforming Versalis’ business model and placing the company among the leaders of the international chemical industry. “I would like to thank Daniele for the excellent work he has done during his years at Versalis,” comments Claudio Descalzi, chief executive officer of Eni.
