KTM 890 Duke to wear ContiRoad tyres
Austrian motorcycle manufacturer KTM and Continental Motorcycle Tires have announced a new cooperation for the new year: Upon its launch in 2021, the KTM 890 Duke will come equipped with ContiRoad tyres as standard equipment.
The new bike is the successor to the acclaimed KTM 790 Duke. Continental also drew upon its rich two-wheeler experience when creating this latest sport touring tyre, with the “genes of the multiple test winner ContiRoadAttack 3” used during its development. The result, says Continental, is a tyre that “impresses with its agile handling, high mileage, excellent wet performance and grip.”
KTM test rider Jeremy McWilliams, former MotoGP rider and Northwest 200 winner, had the opportunity to test the ContiRoad at the Contidrom, Continental’s proving ground in Germany. His conclusion: “The ContiRoad starts working immediately, building the rider confidence as soon as the ride takes off, giving very good feedback from both the front and rear tyre is one of the ContiRoad strengths amongst others. In terms of grip in both wet and dry conditions the ContiRoad performs exceptionally well, the benefits it offers in all conditions with a very broad working range (commuting to very sporty riding) combined with great bump absorption for comfort set the ContiRoad out as a leader in this sector.“
