Continental expanding truck tyre capacity in India
During the next 18 months, Continental plans to “significantly expand” truck tyre production at its Modipuram, Uttar Pradesh factory in India. The expansion is designed to enable increased export volumes to the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, local news sources reported, citing a Continental statement.
The move is said to be the fourth expansion at the facility in the last six years.
“Since we entered into the Indian market in 2011, we have grown substantially after the acquisition of Modi Rubber, introducing a variety of products for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. We introduced the radial range of tyres”, Continental India vice president – manufacturing, Kuldeep Singh is quoted as saying.
