TRMG launches new website
In the USA, the Tread Rubber and Tire Repair Materials Manufacturers’ Group (TRMG) has launched a new website at www.retreadrepair.org.
The TRMG says that the new site is its first online platform featuring industry news and events, and links to educational materials including Industry Recommended Practices, designed to promote quality practices and processes in the tyre retread and tyre repair industry.
Established in 1978, the Tread Rubber and Tire Repair Materials Manufacturers’ Group (TRMG) describes itself as “a team of professionals representing various companies whose goal is to maintain the positive image and credibility of the tyre retreading and repair industries in North America”.
Earlier this year, in the summer TRMG updated the industry-approved buff texture standards for retreading, and also released a new buff textures sheet.
With unanimous member approval, the TRMG published RP-01/02-23 – BTS6 – Standard Buffing Textures for Tire Retreading and Repairing. This recommended practice for buffing and rubber texturization references the latest processes used in the retread and repair industry, and can be viewed, downloaded and printed from the websites of TRIB (Tire Retread and Repair Information Bureau) and TIA (Tire Industry Association):
