New Speedline SLT 3698 truck wheel

Speedline Truck has added the SLT 3698 to its range of forged light alloy wheels. According to the company, the SLT 3698 is the first forged light alloy truck wheel in 22.5 x 9.75-inch to meet the more “extreme” needs of megatrailers.

The SLT 3698 wheel completes the entire range of alloy wheel sizes used in this sector, covering the most demanding and extreme truck configuration when equipped with 315/45 R22.5 tyres on the drive axle.

According to the wheelmaker, using Speedline’s forged light alloy wheels instead of standard steel wheels can cut the weight per truck and trailer by up to approximately 200 kilograms. This, in turn, results in a lower fuel consumption.

Here’s an example configuration of a large-volume transport truck that uses 315/45R22.5 tyres on a drive axle.

Front axle: SLT 3018 22.5 x 11.75 ET 120 with 355/50 R22.5 tyres. Rear axle: SLT 3698 22.5 x 9.75 with 315/45 R22.5 tyres

Semi-trailer/megatrailer: SLT 3598 19.5 x 14.00 ET120 with 425/55, 435/50 or 445/45R19.5 tyres.
