Michelin appoints new MD for Austria

Michelin has reorganised its sales team in Austria and appointed Roland Steinberger managing director of its business in that market. Steinberger began in the role on 1 November, continuing a tyre industry career spanning more than two decades, including eight years at Michelin. His previous role with the tyre maker was sales manager for its car tyre business within Austria.

“I’m looking forward to my new position as managing director. The Austrian market is strategically very important for the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region, which made it all the more important to set up a sales team geared towards local customer needs,” comments Steinberger.

Steinberger serves alongside Philipp Ostbomk, who became managing director for Austria in 2015. Ostbomk retains this role in addition to his remit as head of B2B sales and authorised officer for the DACH region.
