Face coverings mandated for UK dealers
With yet another raft of measures to curb the spread of Covid 19 being introduced by government, the National Franchised Dealers Association (NFDA), which represents franchised car and commercial vehicle retailers in the UK, has intervened in an attempt to clarify the situation vis-à-vis car dealerships.
The Prime Minister has confirmed the requirement to wear face coverings has been extended to include retail staff in England, and that this will apply to dealerships, but at the time of writing, the Government has not yet officially announced when the new rules will come into force, leading to a certain confusion in the trade.
NFDA Director Sue Robinson explains; “While we acknowledge that a number of franchised dealer groups already require their staff to use face coverings, following today’s Prime Ministerial announcement, we encourage all franchised dealers to ensure their staff wear face coverings going forward.
“NFDA will continue to closely monitor the Government’s guidance and keep our members updated”.
