Don’t let hygiene standards slip, car dealers urged
If there is anything positive to come out of the coronavirus pandemic, it is that the vast majority of the public are acutely aware of the importance of personal hygiene and cleanliness; particularly when it comes to hand sanitisation. It is virtually impossible nowadays to enter any building without being urged to take advantage of the ubiquitous hand sprays on display.
A recent survey, commissioned by FulviSafe, suppliers of a new, zero per cent alcohol range of hand hygiene products has revealed that perhaps some drivers and car dealers are not taking adequate precautions when it comes to sanitisation. The survey showed that 85 per cent of drivers either do not bother, or do not think, to clean steering wheels before and after travelling. This is despite 32 per cent of respondents saying that they were now more conscious of the need for hygiene
The problem of sanitisation is even more acute in car dealerships, where cars may be driven by a number of different people on a daily basis (mechanics, valets, prospective customers and so on), plus steering wheels are not the only possible sources of infection; gear sticks, door handles and the like need to be scrupulously clean to prevent transmission of the virus among employees and customers alike.
In order to maintain high standards of hygiene in a car dealership, frequent hand sanitisation is a necessity, and this can create a problem, as this can have a detrimental effect on skin health – almost half (46 per cent) of the survey respondents had experienced just such an effect, using conventional alcohol-based sanitisers (ABSs).
FulviSafe claims to eliminate 99.99 per cent of germs as effectively as ABSs and Nicola Allsop, founder of FulviSafe, explained that ABSs dry out skin, leaving it damaged and susceptible to infection. Her product contains Carbohydrate Derived Fulvic Acid, which kills germs, yet is kind to skin. Says Allsop: “FulviSafe hand sanitiser and barrier cream do not dry the skin and are safe to use; even on babies under one year old, making them ideal for presenting a family-friendly business.”
