Texa presents Axone Nemo 2 diagnostics tool
Already a Texa bestseller, the introduction of the latest edition of the Axone Nemo series brings with it added processing power, communication speed and multi-environment software.
This means the same diagnostic hardware can be used across the car, truck, off-highway, bike and marine environments.
The Axone Nemo 2 has a 12-inch capacitive screen running at a 2160×1440 resolution, protected by Gorilla Glass and designed to be “perfectly visible even in the brightest sunlight”. The system is based Intel® on an Intel Pentium Quad Core N5000 processor, with 8 GB LPDDR4 RAM and 250 GB PCie SSD running Windows 10 Enterprise.
Connectivity comes via a dual channel Wi-Fi system and a Bluetooth® 4.2 module. Another distinctive feature is the presence of two cameras, useful to create detailed customer reports or send technical photos to the assistance centre.
Thanks to its powerful hardware and dedicated IDC5 software, the Axone Nemo 2 is described as “capable of further strengthening the already excellent performance featured in the previous generation of Texa tools.” Given the increasing presence of electronics in vehicles, its strong processing speed represents an even more important aid for technicians.
As well as internal power, Texa has designed the Axone Nemo 2 to be both attractive and practical on the outside. That’s why the outer casing on Axone Nemo 2 is made of magnesium, a material that confers it greater robustness and lightness, while also offering an optimal level of thermal dissipation. At the same time, the system passes the MIL-STD 810 (transit drop test) military standard, which means the tool is resistant to impacts and falls.
IDC5 software offers ‘more than diagnosis’
Texa’s IDC5 software is described as the brain of the Axone Nemo 2. This multi-environment application is designed to be “outstanding for its great speed when accessing communication with the electronic control units in the vehicles and carrying out all its functions thanks to a very intuitive graphics processing.”
Specifically, the software offers a series of functions and technical documentation that exceed the traditional concept of diagnosis. For example, the global scan of the tgs3s control units, technical sheets, mechanical data, dynamic dashboards, pass-thru, and interactive wiring diagrams to mention just a few features. Such additional content has been included in order to extend the Axone Nemo 2’s potential, making it “a premium tool…capable of solving many problems for the complete satisfaction of repair professionals”, according to the company.
FCA authenticated diagnosis
Among the many functions available, it is important to highlight that the system can perform FCA authenticated diagnosis. In fact, by subscribing to the new Texa Security Access service, the Axone Nemo 2 offers unlimited safe and official operations on all the recent vehicles made by the FCA Group and equipped with the SGW (Secure GateWay) – a protection module that intercepts any attempt to access communication with the control units installed in the vehicle. The Axone Nemo 2 automatically manages the entire authentication process in the FCA Group servers, meaning mechanics can safely unlock the dedicated control unit.
Consciously designed to be an “all-in-one” tool, the Axone Nemo 2 can be paired with the Navigator NANO S, Navigator TXTs and Navigator TXB Evolution, covering five working environments: car, truck, off-highway, bike and marine. In addition, the system can be further enhanced with a large range of dedicated services, such as Texpack, Tex@Info, Texa Security Access and Texa App.
Furthermore, the Axone Nemo 2 acts as a single display unit for all of Texa’s latest generation equipment: RCCS 2 (ADAS calibration), AIR2 SAN (vehicle and workplace sanitation), TwinProbe e UNIProbe (electrical measurements), TPS Key (TPMS), Laser Examiner (brake disc wear and tyre tread depth), GASBOX and OPABOX (emission analysis), eLight (headlight centring).
