Record driving test demand following restart news
With driving tests about to start back up one driving school is reported a huge backlog. It could even signal a fourfold increase of pupil enquiries, which will result in a glut of first-time drives on the road in a few months time. Peter Brabin, Head of Training at Bill Plant Driving School, commented:
“Driving tests can officially recommence in England as of tomorrow and this is fantastic news. We have so many learner drivers who were booked in for their driving test just as lockdown came in, leading to a cancellation, and there are even more on the cusp of being ready to book in, who no doubt have been frustrated by the current situation. We also have to feel for those who now have to retake their theory test as it had expired before they were able to take their test.
“We at Bill Plant Driving School are experiencing a record month, with a fourfold increase in pupil enquiries and driving lesson bookings. Pupils and our Driving Instructors are thrilled to be back but with such a backlog we urge all parties to be patient and expect some delays in either waiting for lessons or driving test availability.”
