Continental offices raided in emissions scandal investigation
On Wednesday (July 1, 2020), the public prosecutor and Police searched various Continental locations in Hanover, Frankfurt and Regensburg. The searches are related to investigations into the so-called defeat device used by Volkswagen in its diesel engine emissions management system.
Among other things under investigation, the raids were conducted on suspicion of fraud and indirect false certification in the years from 2006 to 2015, WirtschaftsWoche reported.
Continental AG affirmed its position from previous audits: “We did not deliver any software for the purpose of manipulating exhaust gas values to any of our customers”.
