Traxter-branded low-profile solid tyres aim for elevated platform market
Of course, tyres are a vehicle’s only contact point between the machine and the terrain. This is even more important on aerial equipment such as boom lifts, scissor lifts, telehandlers etc. Furthermore, tyre-related costs are usually among the top five operating costs for most industrial equipment.
With this in mind, Trident has developed a complete range of Traxter-branded low profile solid tyres specially designed for elevated work platforms ranging from 20-foot rough terrain scissors to 150-foot boom lifts that are flat proof tyres, long lasting and have reportedly have low cost of ownership.
According to the company, Traxter solid tyres offer several advantages over foam filled pneumatics at no additional cost. Besides being 100 per cent flat proof, these have high damage resistance, deeper treads for better traction and a long service life. The lower sidewall flex eliminates the bouncy ride typically associated with foam filled tyres.
If foam filling of tyres requires a turnaround of between four to six days, Traxter solid tyres supplied as supplied as ready to fit assemblies for quick and easy fitment on site. The goal here is to further reduce downtime and improve machine utilisation and capital efficiency.
