Moisio appointed Nokian president and CEO
Nokian has appointed Jukka Moisio president and CEO as of 27 May, 2020. Hille Korhonen will step down after leading the company for the last three years. Moisio has led international companies previously, such as Huhtamäki Oyj, a global packaging company, and Ahlstrom Oyj.
Jukka Hienonen, president of the company’s board of directors, said: “Moisio has a proven track record in successful and listed companies, where he has achieved significant financial performance and returns for shareholders. He also has a deep knowledge of Central Europe and North America, which are the key markets for the growth of Nokian Tires. Jukka Moisio has the experience and skills to lead the company to its next development phase.”
Hienonen also paid tribute to Hille Korhonen’s time at the helm, saying she “has played an important role in the growth of Nokian Tires: first as a member of the Board of Directors and, in the last three years, as president and ceo. The past few years have been marked by an intense investment phase, during which the company built a factory in the United States, to achieve the goal of doubling sales in North America. On behalf of the whole board, I would like to thank Hille for her leadership and contribution to society.”
