Jones Skip Hire opts for TY cushion tyres
It is fair to say that the waste sector has been kept busy during the Covid-19 lockdown. And that means firms such as Jones Skip Hire have needed to keep rolling. Indeed, With employees designated as key workers, waste businesses up and down the UK have pulled out all the stops to process the nation’s waste. Volumes of domestic refuse have increased during this period too. Forced to stay home, we’re all clearing out, decluttering and generally throwing more away. That’s without mentioning the effects of the early panic buying. As a result, waste and recycling companies have upped the ante to keep on top of the job.
One such business is Jones Skips of Wolverhampton. As well as skip hire the company’s services include Waste Disposal Services, Contaminated Waste Disposal Services, Special Waste Disposal Services, Waste Transfer Station Facilities and Recycling Services around the West Midlands. The company has been working flat out during the lockdown.
To handle and sort waste the company has a JCB 437 Wastemaster wheeled loader which runs on solid tyres to eliminate the risk of punctures and to ensure maximum uptime. Just prior to the start of the pandemic the company found itself in need of new tyres for the machine.
Lyndon Rushby, managing director of Jones Skip Hire, placed a call to the team at Tyre Boss to identify if the company was suitable as a new tyre supplier and was sufficiently impressed to place the first order. In fact, he went one step further and committed to a service exchange – whereby he bought full, ready pressed rims and tyres; so that his existing rims could be refurbished ready for another customer.
“When I spoke to Wayne at Tyre Boss to enquire about price, delivery and terms for a new set of solid cushion tyres I found him very down-to-earth and knowledgeable. He had a set of 20.5-25 TY tyres in stock which could be pressed to new rims immediately which was the most efficient way for us to receive a set of new wheels. Tyre Boss turned the order around very efficiently and within 3 days from the initial call had fitted the tyres on site, which meant that the machine was out of action for the shortest possible time and back sorting waste…”
