Corgom invests in TRM retreading machinery
Italian retreading and recycling operation Corgom has initiated a multi-year investment plan that is set to upgrade its entire tyre reconstruction process.
Corgom chose TRM, the Italian retreading technologies supplier and specifically machinery such as the Eagle Truck 2500. The Eagle Truck 2500 is said to be “the fastest and most reliable buffer available on the market”. Indeed, this piece of kit has reportedly already reached an output of more than 20 tyres per hour.
With its three real buffing axles and the buffing head unit hang from the structure, it combines high reliability and reduced maintainability, having no moving parts on the ground subject to rubber dust.
The first phase of the project, in addition to the buffer, saw the installation of an autoclave with 18 positions and the technological upgrade of the existing autoclave.
All the machines supplied are in full compliance with Industry 4.0 requirement and therefore enjoy the tax benefits provided by the Italian Government for this type of machine.
TRM will then supply the other machines necessary to complete the process and make Corgom even more competitive on the market to respond to the new development opportunities that the circular economy is generating for the retreading market.
Corgom Srl, based in Corato (BA), was founded in 1989 as a tyre retreading and sales company. Over the last decade, becoming aware of environmental problems, the company has expanded to include the collection, recovery, and treatment of end-of-life tyres (ELTs), becoming one of the largest Italian companies active in this sector. Following the evolution of the supply chain, it is currently one of the largest Italian producers of SBR rubber granules.
