ETEL appoints Kwik Fit MD Mark Slade as deputy group CEO
European Tyre Enterprise Limited (ETEL) has promoted Mark Slade, managing director of Kwik Fit GB, to the new position of ETEL Group Deputy CEO. Slade will continue in his role leading Kwik Fit, but will also take on additional group responsibilities as part of a broader remit.
Slade is a qualified Chartered Accountant and an experienced mergers and acquisitions (M&A) professional. In 2012, Slade became group CFO (Chief Financial Officer) of ETEL.
A key focus for Slade will be “to ensure that the strengths demonstrated by different parts of the organisation are replicated in all components of the group”. The company’s objective is that all elements of the business have consistent levels of resources, information and direction, in order to build on its established leadership position and drive the sector forward.
Slade reports to Sean Tanaka, ETEL Group CEO. Tanaka said: “Mark has already played a key role in developing the strengths of our business, both as Kwik Fit MD and prior to that as the CFO of ETEL. This promotion is a reflection of his leadership qualities and his ability to take a broad view as we continue to lead the industry. We are currently in very turbulent times and Mark is leading our response to the pandemic, but his vision will be equally important to the group strategy when we all return to more normal times.”
Mark Slade said: “I’m very proud to be taking on this new role, albeit at a time when a lot of our normal plans are having to be completely rethought. This crisis has demonstrated our organisation’s ability to respond to the most unexpected events and shown that the group-wide strategy we have been following over recent years has built up a great deal of resilience and flexibility. I look forward to working with Sean to lead the Group on a more proactive footing as we come through the other side of this global crisis.”
Slade takes up his new role with immediate effect.
